Curricular Service Learning
Students from Dr. Lisa Jakubowski’s 2215a Service Learning course leave the classroom to engage in organized engagements with community partners such as Life*Spin, the London Food Bank, Chelsey Park Retirement Community and At^Lohsa Native Healing Centre.
Service-learning is a method under which students learn and develop through thoughtfully organized service that is conducted in the community; that meets the needs of a community and is coordinated with an institution of higher education, and with the community. These group experiences help foster civic responsibility; integrate the academic curriculum of the students enrolled; and includes structured time for students to reflect on the service experience.
We are grateful for these long-standing community partnerships that enable Brescia students to experience first-hand the social network that is available in our city.

Brescia’s Tri-Mentoring Program
We are seeking Community Mentors to engage with Brescia students; our program is designed to pair senior level students with successful women in the community. The purpose of the Tri-Mentoring Program is to facilitate students' learning, leadership, and networking possibilities through affiliation with a community mentor in a similar career. This program provides young women an opportunity to explore career options with an experienced guide in a one-to-one relationship. It allows a student to learn from the community mentor’s career experience and personal perspective and acquired wisdom.
As a Community Mentor, you may also benefit from an opportunity to see things from a fresh perspective while engaging with a young woman on the cusp of her career. You can take satisfaction in your role as motivator and supporter.
We invite you to apply to the Tri-Mentoring Program. We have additional information we would be pleased to supply. Registered Dieticians are especially needed:
