Brescia’s Foods & Nutritional Sciences program has received national and international recognition, thanks to the high calibre of our graduates and our expert faculty members.
The Master of Science in Foods and Nutrition (Internship Stream) is a professional program and is accredited by Dietitians of Canada. Graduates are permitted to write the Canadian Dietetic Registration Examination to become a Registered Dietitian.

After Brescia
Our graduates have been accepted into PhD programs at institutions such as the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in England. They have the advanced credentials needed to meet the increasingly complex requirements of institutional settings and client services. They have found careers in:
- Clinical hospital settings
- Public Health
- Community Health Centres
- Family Health Teams
- Private Practice
They are also working as part-time faculty in the Division of Food and Nutritional Sciences, Brescia University College.
Faculty
Brescia’s faculty members are known for being on the cutting edge. The majority are Registered Professional Home Economists and/or Registered Dietitians. They are conducting research in such areas as obesity prevention programs and services for children. They are also experts in national food and nutrition policies.

Co-ordinators:
The Internship Coordinator is a Registered Dietitian who develops internship placement opportunities which will meet student interests and needs. The Internship Coordinator monitors student acquisition of dietetic competencies during their internship and liaises with RD preceptors throughout southwestern Ontario.
The Graduate Program Coordinator oversees admissions, logistics of the Internship placements, and works with both the Director of the Graduate Program in Foods and Nutrition and the Internship Coordinator to coordinate the overall administration of the program.
