Disruption & Cell Phone Regulations
Noise
The North side of the library, including the help desk and computer lab, is a busy Learning Commons where a variety of services are provided. Interactions between library staff and libraryusers are necessary and encouraged, and the need for quiet collaboration among library users is respected. Cell phones must be set to vibrate so as not to disturb others should they ring.
The South side of the library and the Mezzanine level are the quiet study areas where near silence is maintained at all times. Cell phones must be turned off and students are asked to be mindful of sounds from electronic devices which may be disruptive to others.
Disruption
Loud or disruptive patrons may be asked to behave more appropriately and/or leave the library.
Cell Phones
It is not permitted to converse on a cell phone in the library in any area. Cell phones in the library learning commons must be set to vibrate and all calls taken outside of the library. Cell phones in the quiet study areas must be turned off. Students who talk on a cell phone in the library will be asked to leave the library.
