Readmission

student in Philosophy class

Students seeking readmission to Brescia following withdrawal for failure to achieve satisfactory academic standing at a university, must submit an application for admission to the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC) by July 1, 2013.

The session for which readmission is sought may not begin until one full year (12 months) from the last day of the session of withdrawal. In addition, a Readmissions Profile must be submitted to the Admissions Office (see address below). This statement of appeal must be supported by enclosing appropriate letters of support/recommendation or medical certificates from qualified professionals such as counsellors, doctors or teachers, if applicable.

Readmission is not automatic.  In deciding whether to readmit a student who previously failed to meet progression requirements, our Admissions Committee takes all available information into account, including:

  • information you provide in the Readmissions Profile
  • academic history (previous Western and high school marks, any other records of studies completed during your time away from the university)
  • documentation of circumstances you believe hindered your academic progress
  • other activities since you last attended university, including paid work and/or volunteering

The Admissions Committee tries to assess how likely it is you will succeed if readmitted.  In your Readmissions Profile, you may want to demonstrate how you are prepared to return to the university and how you will be ready to be succeed academically.

I need to talk to an Admissions Officer to ask specific questions. Who do I contact?
