Alternative Spring Break
Alternative Spring Break - Dominican Republic 2012
What is the ASB Program?
The Alternative Spring Break program places a group of Brescia women in foreign communities to engage in community service and experiential learning during the academic break in February. In partnership with Rayjon Sharecare, the Alternative Spring Break 2012 will take place in the Dominican Republic. Brescia University College and the Department of Student Services are hopeful that the alternative spring break program acts as a springboard into lifelong active citizenship.
What will students do while abroad?
Students will engage in community development projects that link their academic experience with community service work. Students will perform short-term projects for community agencies and learn about issues such as literacy, poverty, racism, hunger, homelessness, sustainable development, and the environment.
Why should I participate in the ASB Program?
International volunteers are ambassadors of change who represent hope, goodwill, and commitment, reflecting a new type of leadership. By participating in the Alternative Spring Break Program you can join this movement and positively contribute to the many community development initiatives in the Dominican Republic. At Student Services we know that people need and want to take action; we are committed to helping you be the change you want to see in the world!
