2009 One Day Summer Conference for Women
This year's one day summer conference will take place on Thursday June 4, 2009, 8:30am-3:00pm at Brescia University College. Speakers will include Emily Pomeroy, Catalyst, North America's major think tank on research into women and leadership. More conference details will be provided shortly.
2008 Leadership Conference: "When Opportunity Knocks...Are You Ready?"
The first annual Leadership Conference took place on June 19, 2008, and explored leadership in two different streams as a way to reach women in various stages of their careers: 1) for young women interested in gaining skills in marketing themselves, negotiation, and networking; 2) for mid-career women who are seeking to further develop their leadership abilities and who will look at areas such as building successful teams and creating a vision for an organization.
The ideas about leadership explored at this conference were:
- the core belief that we have the power to generate pathways to our goals through our actions
- that belief in ourselves and our visions encourages us to persevere amid adversity
- that potential is evoked and realized when we connect with others and forge meaningful relationships built upon authenticity and respect
