Featuring papers by students and community members on women making change individually and collectively, locally and globally and covering a range of topics including the history of the women’s movement in London, women’s organizing in Iran, inter-generational debates abut feminism, the creation of feminist communities, and women in burlesque, punk and underground music cultures.

The first annual Women Making Change Conference held at Brescia University College offered presentations and discussions on a wide range of topics from gender studies in Rwanda to pioneer women poets of London. Held as part of the local celebrations of International Women’s Day, the conference explored the many ways women work for change, locally, nationally and internationally.
