Breakfast for Bursaries!
On Thursday, October 20, 2011, more than 360 people gathered at the London Convention Centre to celebrate women's education and be inspired by international human rights activist Nazanin Afshin-Jam's story.
This year, thanks to our sponsors and guests, we succeeded in raising our most to date for the Eleanore Donnelly Bursary, netting more than $41,500 to be matched dollar for dollar by the Ontario government.

2011 Eleanore Donnelly Bursary Recipient:
Jessica Jackson
Jessica Jackson, this year’s recipient, is in her first year of the Family Studies program at Brescia and is excited about the many opportunities she will have when she completes her degree. Although she has yet to choose a definite career path, teaching and working for a non-profit organization are among her list of possibilities.
Jessica says the decision to attend Brescia was one she knew she had to make despite her financial challenges. “I could see myself at Brescia…I had to take the chance and go no matter what. Then, I received this award and some of the pressure was off. I am so grateful and honored to have been chosen. It’s hard to express how much I appreciate it.”
