All ancillary fees are mandatory except for the USC Health Plan and USC Dental Plan, which students must pay but can then opt-out of by September 30, 2012 for a refund. To opt-out and for complete details of the plan, please go to www.studentsbenefits.ca.  The Brescia Off Campus Council Fee is not charged to students residing in the Brescia Residence. The Brescia Ring Payment Plan Fee is a mandatory fee collected from students in Years 2 to 4 and applied to the purchase of a Brescia Ring that each student will receive upon graduation; contributions made towards the Ring Payment Plan are refundable if a students withdraws from Brescia prior to graduating.

FEES

This fee schedule does not include additional costs such as books and supplies, late fees, unsealing fees, NSF fees, parking fees or service fees. Contact Lynn Page in the Business Office at extension 28308 for more information or by email to business@uwo.ca

RESIDENCE FEES

A non-refundable $17.00 Residence Council fee is included in residence fees, as is the cost of a meal plan. A meal plan is mandatory and non-refundable. Single room fees are an additional $550.00 for the academic year. All residence rooms are equipped with internet (RezNet) and an intercom system. The cost of RezNet and intercom are included in the residence fee. Students may opt-out of RezNet by September 30, 2012 and receive a full refund of the RezNet fee. Contact the Business Office.

PAYMENT OPTIONS

Students can pay their fees online through their bank website (pay Brescia University College not the University of Western Ontario) and use your student number as the account number. We also accept cash ($500 maximum limit), cheque, money order, debit card, MasterCard and Visa. A credit card payment form is available from Brescia's website and must be faxed to the Business Office (519) 858-5116. We do not accept credit card payments by telephone. Students should contact Lynn Page in the Business Office at extension 28308 or by email to business@uwo.ca to discuss any fee issues prior to the first installment due date of August 13, 2012. Second installment of fees is due January 7, 2013.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Scholarships are awarded based on merit (marks). Scholarships are applied directly to student accounts. Students who are eligible for a scholarship may deduct this amount from their first payment. For tax purposes, if you are awarded a scholarship, please supply your Social Insurance Number to the Business Office. Questions concerning eligibility for or amount of an admission or continuing scholarship should be directed to the Brescia Registrar's Office at (519) 858-5151.

BURSARIES

Bursaries are non-repayable financial awards made on the basis of financial need. Entrance Bursaries are offered to students who will register for the first time at the College in September 2012 and are applied directly to the student's account. Students eligible for an Entrance Bursary may deduct this amount from their first payment. General Bursaries are also available to students to apply for as needed during the course of the academic year. Work Study Bursaries provide an opportunity to work at various positions offered at the College. The application for General and Work Study Bursaries can be found on Brescia's web site. Bursary enquiries should be directed to Rachel Bruijns in the Business Office at extension 28382 or emailed to brfinaid@uwo.ca.

OSAP

Students with a course load of 60% (3 full courses) or more are eligible to apply for full-time OSAP funding. Students should apply online at http://osap.gov.on.ca. Students may also apply using a booklet application. Students who plan to attend Brescia University College should submit their OSAP Signature Sheets/booklet applications directly to Financial Aid at Brescia. OSAP enquiries should be directed to the Rachel Bruijns at extension 28382 or brfinaid@uwo.ca.

OSAP students will be allowed to defer their fee payment until their OSAP funding is released. To qualify for a fee deferment, the student must have applied for OSAP by June 30, 2012 and submitted signature sheets and all other paperwork to Financial Aid at Brescia by July 6, 2012. The student must also have been notified of eligibility for OSAP before the fees are due and have sufficient first installment of OSAP funding to cover at least the first installment of tuition and/or residence fees that are due August 13, 2012. Before making any course changes, OSAP students are strongly recommended to contact Financial Aid at Brescia to determine the financial implications, if any.
