Sacraments

Sacraments are “signs of the sacred” that lay the foundation for all Christian life.  These are available on campus for Catholics. At Brescia, we engage in all seven sacraments with faith, hope and love. The Eucharist is celebrated regularly in Brescia Chapel so that we can be nourished spiritually and brought closer to God in the Real Presence.

Eucharist

This sacrament commemorates the Last Supper. Brescia celebrates Eucharist during each Mass throughout the week.

Baptism

This sacrament is the first step in our life long journey of commitment and discipleship in faith, and gives access to the full sacramental life of the Church.

Confirmation

This is one of the three sacraments of initiation and is associated with the gifts of the Holy Spirit and anointing of oil by the priest.

Reconciliation

This practice of the forgiveness of sins reconciles us with God and the community. Made in-person, reconciliation is available before and after Mass or by appointment with the priest. Appointment requests can be facilitated through the Director of Campus Ministry.

Marriage

This sacrament is a public sign that one gives oneself totally to the other through love, mirrored by the love from the Creator. Please contact us six months in advance to make arrangements.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)

This sacrament is a process for individuals that are seeking to become Christian. If you are considering reception into the Christian community, please contact the Director of Campus Ministry, or speak to the priest following Mass.

Anointing of the Sick

This sacrament is a ritual of healing appropriate for physical, mental and spiritual sickness, and is requested through the Celebrant of Mass. Requests for appointments can also be made through the Director of Campus Ministry.
