All the world’s a stage at Brescia’s 12th annual Cultural Festival

January 25, 2018
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

London, ON – On Thursday, January 25th, Brescia’s St. James Auditorium will be transformed into a world stage of song, dance, ethnic food, poetry and a fashion show of cultural attire in celebration of the 12th annual Cultural Festival.

The goal of Brescia’s signature international event is to increase global awareness within the University community, while also providing a venue for its students to share and celebrate their unique cultural traditions. Since launching in 2007, Brescia has watched the Cultural Festival grow and diversify, which is a reflection of the school’s growing international student population.

Building on the success of the previous year’s event, local vendors and restaurants will once again be generously donating a variety of global food. CultureWorks: English as a Second Language School will host multiple displays that will showcase their work with the international community at Brescia, including song, dance and a head wrap demonstration. Members of London’s community will also be present, including a representative from hair salon Jennifer Naturals. In addition, this year Brescia is proud to partner with the Chinese Canadian National Council (CCNC), whose 20-person choir will be performing two intercultural songs.

All proceeds raised through this year’s Festival will support the Hurricane Relief Fund to assist those places affected by the severe hurricanes in fall 2017.

The Cultural Festival takes place on Thursday, January 25th, from 12:30 p.m. through 3:30 p.m. in Brescia’s St. James Auditorium. Admission is free.
