Covid-19 Information Update  2023

At Brescia, we prioritize the health and safety of our community. Based on ongoing consultations with medical experts and local public health authorities, we have made some adjustments to our COVID-19 policies and protocols.

Vaccination Policy:

Brescia students and employees are no longer required to upload proof of vaccination documents. Therefore, students, employees, and visitors are no longer required to be vaccinated to access campus facilities. If working or attending classes or events at Western or the affiliate campuses of Huron and King’s, you will be subject to the protocols in place at those institutions.

Masking Guidelines:

Consistent with Public Health guidelines, Brescia lifted its mask mandate in June 2022. While masks are no longer required indoors, we continue to encourage masking in crowded indoor settings and will continue to maintain the provision of medical masks to our community for those that need or wish to wear them. We know everyone will be respectful of personal choices and individual circumstances with compassion and understanding. For your convenience, masks will be available at the front desk of St. James and Clare Hall.

Self-Isolation & Academic Consideration:

If you find yourself needing to self-isolate based on COVID-19 Self-Assessment directions, please comply accordingly. For academic consideration requests due to missed work, whether for medical or non-medical reasons, kindly submit them through the Academic Advisors at Brescia.

Working at Brescia:

In order to provide all members of the University community with a safe and healthy work and learning environment, all Brescia employees are required to follow the requirements or directives related to COVID-19 as communicated through Public Health or the Ontario Government. Employees who require accommodations are asked to contact Ingrid Christensen in Human Resources.

If an employee is ill due to COVID-19, the flu, or other illnesses, we ask that you stay home until you are well to attend work, following all self-isolation guidelines in place (if applicable). Current COVID-19 self-isolation guidelines and masking requirements can be found under MLHU Self Isolation guidelines. It will be important to communicate with managers with regards to remote work options and to continue to follow standard reporting practices for your area in the case of any illness.
