Psychology: Students enrolled in a double major in Psychology and Sociology can take Psychology 2850A/B OR Sociology 2205A/B, but must take both Psychology 2855F/G AND Sociology 2206A/B. 

Sociology: Students enrolled in a double major in Sociology and Psychology can take Sociology 2205A/B OR Psychology 2850A/B, but must take both Sociology 2206A/B AND Psychology 2855F/G.

Independent Study Course:

Food and Nutrition Independent Study Opportunity: FN3480F or FN4480F

This opportunity takes place during the 2022-2023 school year. This course is an introduction to the development of a specific research project. This course involves the development of skills related to the appropriate use of scientific databases, the critical appraisal of available literature, and scientific writing style. This course requires independent learning and is intended for students doing well in their courses and looking for a challenge.

Eligibility Requirements: 

Positions open to Western/Brescia students only.
Students must be registered in year 3 or year 4 of: Honours Specialization or Specialization in Foods and Nutrition, Honours Specialization in Nutrition and Dietetics, or permission of the School.
Students must have a an average of 75% or greater.
English and computer literacy required.

Course Restrictions:

Psychology 4842E: Honors Thesis is restricted to students in the Honors Specialization at Brescia. To enroll in this course, students must contact, and receive permission from a supervisor for their thesis. Students should contact Dr. John Mitchell if they have not contacted a supervisor. Students will be added into this course by the Registrar’s Office once approval is received.
