It’s about finding transforming your space

Brescia encourages student to bring their bold, creative ideas forward--to transform spaces--in their classrooms, work places and community.

It's not about finding the spaces, it's about transforming the spaces that already exist through creativity, collaboration and teamwork.

How do you relate to being a leader in or outside the classroom?

Being a leader in and outside of the classroom is something I fully relate to as it was instilled in me from my parents. Therefore, being able to provide support and guidance to people has grown to be something I’m very passionate about.

This year, one of my leadership positions was a mentor to high school students with the program WeBridge. It was an honour to be able to pass on the information I know to these young individuals to help them with their future goals.

What are your beliefs about Brescia’s all-women’s learning environment?

I believe Brescia’s all-women learning environment is excellent. It provides women the opportunity to reach for the sky without any preconceived notions of inadequacy and inferiority.

What advice would you give to Brescia students who want to lead boldly.

My advice to Brescia students who want to lead boldly is to be confident in who you are and what you stand for - even in the moments where there are a lot of naysayers! Stand your ground and seek support from people with strong mindsets, but also seek support from people who can keep you accountable to your goals!

How do you choose to lead together in your community?

I choose to lead together in my community, by educating myself of what people's needs are, and how I may be able to help. Sometimes, I personally am not able to help; however, I can connect them to resources that I feel will be better equipped.
