Book a Seat or Computer

Please Note:

The Library is closed to the public until further notice due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Seat and computer booking are not available at this time.

Things to Know Before You Book
  • You may only check-in for your own booking. Western ID is required to check-in.
  • Study spaces and computers are limited to one person per space (no multiple person bookings).
  • You can book an appointment for a default of 4 hours per day, with the option to extend your booking beyond that if resources allow.
  • Duration of bookings will be limited to a minimum of 30 minutes.
  • If you do not claim your seat or computer within 15 minutes of your booking it will be cancelled.
  • Please note there is a buffer time of 30 minutes between bookings to allow for cleaning protocols to take place.
  • We have seats available to book within our posted hours of operation.
  • You can book a seat up to two weeks in advance.
Please Do Not Visit If
  • You have travelled outside Canada during the previous 14 days.
  • You have symptoms of COVID-19 or are feeling unwell.
  • Someone in your household has COVID-19 symptoms in the past 14 days.
  • Anyone in your household has been exposed to someone who has or is recovering from COVID-19.
Walk-Ins are Welcome

Seats and computers that have not been booked ahead of time are also available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Visit the Library Service Desk and we can assist you with booking a seat when you arrive.

Library Seat and Computer Details 

The Beryl Ivey Library has 20 seats & 11 computers available for booking to accommodate one person per table or one person per desktop computer during our open hours.  

  • Each seat contains one chair and one table.  
  • There are three counter height tables tables available to reserve, each one includes a tall table and tall chair. 
  • Each computer seat contains one PC desktop.  
  • There is one PC desktop computer with assistive technology.     

Brescia University College students, faculty, and staff can book these seats using their Western ID for 30 minutes to 7 hours, at a maximum of 7 hours per person, per day. A maximum of one person, per table, is permitted at this time.  

Beryl Ivey Library staff reserve the right to modify bookings if users do not adhere to health and safety protocols. Parameters for seat and computer bookings may change during the academic year in response to changes in demand or public health, government, or university guidelines.

Library Seat & Computer Booking Instructions
  1. Go to the booking system homepage:
  2. Select Zone option:
    1. First Floor – Conversation Friendly Side.
    2. Computer Lab.
  3. If accessible seating is required, check off the box next to Accessible. 
  4. Click Show Availability.
  5. A grid will appear with a list of seats or computers to select from.
    1. If the grid is blue, the seat/computer is available to book.
    2. If the grid is orange, that seat/computer has already been booked.
    3. If the grid is grey, select "Next Available" or "Go to Date".
  6. The “Go to Date” option will pop up with a calendar that allows for seats to be booked up to 14 days in advance.
  7. Once a time slot has been selected, it will be highlighted in yellow and a box will appear below the grid to indicate the date and time of the booking.
  8. If the details look correct, select Submit Times.
  9. Log in with your Western ID.
  10. Please carefully read through the Terms & Conditions before selecting Continue.
  11. Add in a Booking Name.
  12. Click Submit My Booking.
  13. An email will be sent shortly after to confirm the booking, as well as include a link to cancel the booking if necessary.
