Senior Citizen Bursary Application

This bursary is available to senior citizens (60 years of age or older) registered at Brescia University College at the undergraduate level who require financial assistance to continue post-secondary studies. 

Eligibility  

  • Applicant must be 60 years of age or older within the first month their study term commences.
  • Applicants must present proof of age when applying for the first time.
  • Applicant must be registered in Senate-approved courses and program at Brescia University College at the undergraduate level.
  • Applicants must be Canadian citizens. 
  • The value of the bursary shall cover the cost of TUITION ONLY of up to three full courses (excluding online courses) for the September-August study period. This can include a combination of full or half courses, but must not exceed a total registration of 3.0.
  • Applicants must be registered as part-time students for credit or audit.
  • Applicants must initially satisfy Brescia’s entrance requirements for their chosen program or course(s).
  • Applications must be submitted prior to the start of classes for the session in which the bursary is required.
  • This bursary may not be held with other Brescia scholarships, awards, or bursaries, as well as OSAP funding or any other external source that is intended to support the student’s tuition fees.

Notes:

  1. The value of the bursary shall cover the cost of tuition only of up three full courses (excluding online courses) at Brescia for the September to August study period. This can include a combination of full or half courses, but must not exceed a total registration of 3.0.
  2. The bursary will not cover additional expenses such ancillary fees, books, sealing charges, late fees, and lab fees. The payment for these charges are the student’s responsibility.
  3. Admission to limited enrolment courses and programs is competitive. No assurance is given to students that they will be granted a place in such courses or programs.
  4. Only students registered at Brescia University College and taking courses at Brescia University College are eligible for the bursary.
  5. Applicant is responsible for submitting the bursary application prior to the tuition fee deadline.
  6. A reduction in course load will correspondingly reduce the value of the bursary; if adding or dropping courses during the academic year, please notify the Brescia Business Office business@uwo.ca.
  7. The bursary may not be held with other Brescia scholarships, awards, or bursaries as well as OSAP funding or any other external source that is intended to support the student’s tuition fees.
  8. Students will need to submit a new application for each Fall/Winter and/or Summer term that they enrol in.
STUDENT DECLARATION: As a senior citizen, I hereby declare that I require financial assistance to continue my post-secondary studies at Brescia University College. I have read and understood the Senior Citizen Bursary guidelines/eligibility conditions. The information contained in the application is complete and true in all respects. If I add or drop courses during the academic year, I will notify the Brescia Business Office by email or in writing. I understand that failure to disclose complete and accurate information may result in my bursary being recanted.
