Help Someone

You don’t need to be an expert or have all the answers to help a survivor of sexual violence.

Anytime a person discloses to an administrator, staff or faculty member they will see that response as representing Brescia. We want to help you feel prepared and know what you can do when you receive a disclosure, openly and compassionately.

Most survivors do not formally report to authorities and many do not even disclose to someone they trust. A campus environment in which individuals feel comfortable coming forward helps ensure they receive the assistance they need.

If someone tells you about sexual violence that has or is happening to them or someone they know, it means they trust you enough to confide in you. Be compassionate, supportive, and respectful.
