Fernanda Santeago was seeking an enriching 
university environment that would help her grow and develop as a woman.
When she stumbled across Brescia University College during a search for all-women’s universities, she knew right away the prestigious Western affiliate was something she wanted to experience.
Fernanda, originally from Brazil, decided to explore Brescia as an exchange student last Fall and said it was one of the best decisions that changed her life for the better.
“Canada is a country I have never been, and an all-women’s university is something
I don’t have in my country. I think it’s great to see how empowering an environment
tailored to women can be. That’s why I chose Brescia. I want to be encouraged to be
happy about being a woman, and I wanted to see another perspective that I don’t have
in my country.”
Fernanda studied Psychology, and at the time 
said she was especially looking forward to the unique courses offered at Brescia,
as well as benefitting from the knowledge the professors had to share.
Speaking of her experience at Brescia, Fernanda said it was absolutely amazing. She specifically highlighted the International Bridging Week put on by the International Student’s office.
"Brescia has been really great. Bridging Week helped a lot in terms of getting to
know the city and everything there is to do here in London and at Brescia. During
Bridging Week, they made everything look like so much fun. I really enjoyed it.
If you are an international student and you have the opportunity to do Bridging, do
it. It’s really important. It helps you to get integrated and settled into the community
quicker. You get to know other international students who will be here the same time
as you, and it’s a great experience.”
