Celebrating Brescia's student-athletes at the 82nd Western Mustangs Awards

It was a big and bold evening for Brescia’s student-athletes at the 82nd Mustangs Athletic Awards hosted on April 6, 2023 at Alumni Hall, Western University.

Brescia proudly congratulates the 12 women across eight varsity sports who were recipients of OUA All-Star & All-Canadian awards, Bronze “W” awards, MVP awards and Purple Blanket awards.

OUA All-Star & All-Canadian Awards

  • Sophie Young (Basketball | Criminal Justice and Sociology student) – Marion Hilliard Award
  • Elisa Bolinger (Rowing | Kinesiology and French student) – 1st Team
  • Cheyenne Sawchuk (Rowing | Foods and Nutrition student) - 1st Team
  • Janelle Albert (Volleyball | BMOS student) – 1st team and OUA MVP

Janelle Albert was also nominated for Female Athlete of the Year and the F.W.P Jones Trophy.

Rylie Grogan (Brescia alumna ’22, Bachelor of Arts with Major in Kinesiology) was recognized as the MVP for Golf. Rylie is currently in her first year of the Bachelor of Education program at Western’s Faculty of Education.
