Automatic Awards

Below are the scholarships and awards that are automatically granted and do not require an application.

Important Notes:

  • The selected student recipient of each award will be notified in November by their Western email account and will be invited to attend the Brescia Awards Ceremony.
  • The “Estimated Value” may be subject to change without notice.

First Year Subject Awards Highest average in a first year subject. Multiple awards $50–$100
Brescia Alumnae Scholarship High academic standing. Multiple awards $1000
Brescia Faculty Association Scholarship for Academic Excellence Full-time returning student with the highest grade point average in the previous year. $500
Canadian Association of Food Professionals Award of Excellence Full-time F&N Student in any year, high academic standing, demonstrated involvement in student professional development associationns $1000
Cho Hang Lau Award Returning fourth-year student in Honours Foods and Nutrition program with the highest academic average in the previous year. (Minimum 80%) $150
Dr. Pat Devolder Award Returning third or fourth year student with the highest average in a Psychology major or specialization in the previous year. $250
Eleanore Donnelly French Award Fourth-year student with the highest average in third year French. (Minimum 80%) $200
Kit Hing Ng Lau Award Full-time fourth-year student in the non-honours Foods and Nutrition program with the highest academic average in the previous year. (Minimum 70%) $150
Marjorie and Philip Pocock Scholarship High academic standing in first, second, or third year. $500
Mother St. James Hickey Scholarship Full-time second or third year student who achieved high academic standing in the previous year and does not hold a continuing scholarship. Minimum average 80%. $1250
Olive Higgins Scholarship Outstanding academic achievement who was registered at Brescia full-time in the previous year and does not hold a continuing scholarship. $3000
Pak Ho Lau Award Third-year student in the Honours Foods and Nutrition program with the highest academic average in the previous year. (Minimum 80%) $150
Sr. Mary Agnes Fuerth Scholarship High academic standing in first, second, or third year. $1000
Van Memorial Scholarship Fourth year student in Honors Specialization, Nutrition and Dietetics program having attained the highest average (minimum 80%) in year 3 of the Honors Specialization in Nutrition and Dietetics program. $2,000
Wintermeyer Scholarship High academic standing in first, second, or third year. $750
